International recruitment company
Alsbridge conducted a diagnostic review of the existing Shared Services entity for F&A at this international specialist recruitment company. The organisation had recently implemented SAP and was experiencing continuing disruption and degradation of service in those processes delivered through the SSC. Alsbridge identified a number of remedial measures and recommendations to overcome the problems and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes reviewed.
FTSE250 Support Services Group
We helped a FTSE250 Support Services Group shape its target operating model for Group-wide Services (Finance, HR, Supply Chain and IT), developing service delivery models and the sourcing strategy. In parallel we helped select an ERP for their business needs and choose a SI to build and implement. This change programme is targeted to reduce the client’s cost base by 40%.
Major German Investment Bank
Alsbridge developed and delivered a two day “Making Shared Services Work” workshop for a major German investment bank. Its focus lay in maximising the effectiveness of offshore finance and accounting processing centres by bringing together the offshore and onshore teams and helping them to work more effectively together. The workshop was delivered in major bank locations around the world and was credited with significantly improving service delivery and effectiveness.
UK Bank
On behalf of a UK bank, we conducted an optimisation review and developed a route map to establish a new,efficient HR Service Delivery Operating Model for a captive SSC that was underperforming. Our recommendations streamlined the existing Operating Model allowing for rationalisation and simplification of processes.
Leading consumer products company
On behalf of a leading consumer products company, we conducted a feasibility /options appraisal for relocation of an existing SSC located in South of England and the additional Pan-European functions still decentralized in 17 countries. Our assessment included a business case for relocation along with a full risk/benefits analysis for a number of locations.
Global FMCG
We assisted with a nearshore location analysis for an existing pan-European shared services centre, on behalf of a global FMCG. The client wished to substantially reduce costs whilst maintaining current service levels. Our Location Study included qualitative and quantitative assessments for a number of options, resulting in a shortlist from which the best location could be chosen.
Central government department
We assisted with the implementation of a central government department Shared Services Centre, acting as key advisors to the Programme Director and Shared Services Programme Board. Alsbridge reviewed the business case, reviewed the design phase deliverables and provided guidance on implementation and opening the SSC out to other public sector customers.

Alsbridge worked with this central government department to review and validate its complex and ambitious HR Shared Service Programme. Focusing on a day-long collaborative workshop, Alsbridge provided an external and expert perspective, working with the MOJ HR programme leads and practitioners to challenge the strategy and transition plan for HR shared services across the entire department.
Police force
We delivered a strategic business case with recommendations highlighting the current baseline and current options in terms of collaboration and shared services for a cluster of police forces in South England. We have also conducted a feasibility study for collaborative sourcing of IT and back office functions for a group of police forces in the North, producing indicative cost savings for shared delivery.
