Alsbridge Public Sector Team
The Transformational Government Strategy has set out a vision for using shared services as a mechanism for enabling a step change in the efficiency and effectiveness of corporate services. As a result of this, numerous public sector organisations are now undertaking, or considering, shared services programmes (this includes many outsourcing deals).
Our Public Sector Team is at the forefront of this transformation, helping Central Government, Local Government, NHS and Police to effectively exploit shared services opportunities.
We provide specialist advice in three areas:
- Shared Services implementation
- Outsourcing Advice
- Functional Transformation
In Shared Services we provide assistance at every stage of the lifecycle including strategy, business cases, detailed design, 'build' activities, implementation and continuous improvement.
In Outsourcing Advice, we support clients with outsourcing various services, including IT Services, Finance, HR, procurement and others. We help clients in defining their needs, selecting suppliers (including Competitive Dialogue), negotiation (and renegotiation), and contracting. We also support design and transition to the outsourcing model.
In Functional Transformation, we support the Finance, HR, procurement and IT functions to transform the retained organisation (i.e. that part of the function that does not move to shared services or outsourcing).

We have also developed a standard solution blueprint for public sector shared services, including common Finance and HR process models, organisation structures, service level agreements and governance structures. We believe in reuse of best practice models and in all of our work, we make these examples and templates available for reuse.
