Summary

The client is a major financial group incorporating retail and wholesale banking, insurance and fund management operations. It has approximately 80,000 employees and over 2,200 branches spread throughout the UK and provides a full range of banking and financial services to over 15 million customers.

Objectives
 
Alsbridge were engaged to advise and support the programme of change to help design and implement a sustainable operating model which delivers a Finance Function that appropriately balances cost efficiency, control effectiveness and service quality.
 
Activities
  • Provided “Head of Finance Change” for Wholesale & International Banking Division, acting as the project champion and leading the Division through the finance transformation project
  • Reviewed opportunities for Offshoring in the finance function and made recommendations to the Group Finance Director
  • Assisted with the creation of the new UK shared service centre
  • Jointly led a “Solution Validation” review 12 months into the project and designed new management reporting framework
Results

Alsbridge resources were critical to the success of Release 1 of the project which involved the design of target operating model for the group and the underlying processes, systems and people initiatives.
